The guy at check-in was completely obnoxious and without apology (or seeming to care at all) told me that I couldn't have the room type I booked because the hotel was busy due to the free concert. A couple of weeks later, I took my mom to AC, and we were already booked at Bally's because unfortunately that was my only comp for those dates. The room was just old and beat up, clean enough, but I figure we might as well stay in places where there are less stains and the furniture doesn't look like it was picked up off the side of the road. The minute we got into our room, he told me I was right and that we'll stay only at Caesar's and Harrah's from now on (since Showboat, sadly, is closing). My boyfriend and I are always comped at TR properties, and he somehow convinced me to stay at Bally's now that Claridge is not part of it any more (we actually do quite a lot of our gambling at Bally's).
Over the course of 8 years of AC trips, I managed to avoid staying at Bally's, mainly because of a serious fear of getting stuck into the Claridge Tower.
